““Government is an evil; it is only the thoughtlessness and vices of men that make it a necessary evil. When all men are good and wise, government will of itself decay.” -Percy Shelley “Man has no right to kill his brother. It is no excuse that he does so in uniform: he only adds the infamy of servitude to the crime of murder.”- Percy Shelley I’m doing a project on Romanticist poets and am finding most things incredibly inspiring (:D)..And I thought I’d post these quotes that I found that perfectly exemplify some of my most ardent opinions”
Percy Shelley rocks. He wrote Ozymandias which happens to be one of my favorite poems. His wife wrote Frankenstein which was also pretty awesome. You ever read that? Now that I’m thinking about it, I’m not sure how it fits into what you were saying Romanticism was about, triumph of emotion over reason. Got thoughts?
